Ultimately, the book of Ruth is a profound account of God’s providence in the lives of otherwise ordinary people who observed God’s covenant in rather mundane circumstances. As we shall see in the chapters that follow, what God does through the faithfulness of Ruth and Boaz is nothing short of stunning. Because the God of Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz is also our God, we similarly can expect him to perform great and mighty deeds that advance his glorious purpose of reconciling all things to his eternal plan.
